needlework

Knitting, embroidery, crochet, and sewn accessories, with many taking inspiration from characters and fandom.

ttrpg miniatures

Handpainted miniatures for a variety of TTRPGs.

needlework

All the needlework is handled by Tori (and occasionally Mel, when conscripted for pattern cutting or needlefelting). While knitting, crochet, and embroidery were hobbies started over the last two years, she's been a hobby seamstress for well over ten years as a cosplayer. The gallery is a lightbox, so feel free to click images for a better view!

TTRPG MINIATURES

All miniature painting is done by Mel, using hand brushes and quality paint by Citadel, Army Painter, and Scale 75. While she's painted a variety of things over the years, her favored subjects are beasts, monsters, and metal. This largely comes from her cosplay as well - where Tori is the seamstress, Mel is the armorer, and she enjoys translating what she's learned about painting at large scale down to the miniature level. The galleries are lightboxes, so feel free to click through for a better look!

Who We Are
Originally two friends brought together by our shared love for the game Nier: Automata, we soon found that we had a love for one another, too. We've traveled across Eorzea, Icewind Dale, the Outer Rim, and beyond, and all of it has inspired us in our creative endeavors. We have more fun together, which is where our studio name comes from - speckles of paint (and Mel's vitiligo), and stripes of knit color (plus Tori's love for orange tabby kittens).
Many of our projects come from the deep love and connection we have to the media we enjoy, as well as our own characters. After all, what better way to organize your multiple sets of dice for one character than to have a custom bag that reflects who they are?And that's what we want to share with others - having something that they can point to and say "that's my character", whether it be a dice bag that can hold one set of dice or ten, an embroidered hoop of flowers that represent them, or a shawl in your character's colors that you can wrap yourself up in on a cold night after a particularly emotional session (we've been there).Outside of that, we live in Maryland together with our two dogs Moogle and Ellie (named from Final Fantasy and The Last of Us), and are avid cosplayers and gamers. Our passion for fandom stuff is present everywhere in our lives - Tori sings as part of a choir in the Washington Metro Gaming Symphony Orchestra, and Mel brings the chaos of D&D to the kids she teaches during before & afterschool care. We love to talk about OCs and games, so feel free to chat with us if you catch us at a convention!
